Over 27 years' experience in medical ultrasound, variety of clinical environments, including high risk obstetrics, emergency room imaging and clinical research and in a wide range of clinical applications including obstetrics, gynecologic, abdominal, musculoskeletal, vascular, breast, contrast, elastography, neonatal head scans and infant hip sonography. Additional 6 years' experience in x-ray based imaging, including Computerized Tomography.
Management experience includes successfully leading the ultrasound department in Ayrshire and Arran (Scotland), where I reduced the waiting lists as well as assessed new equipment for purchase.
Previously involved in the assessment and acquisition of ultrasound equipment for a research facility with the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, where I also participated in the development and execution of PhD research projects
Involved in research projects including an elastography project which I presented at RSNA 2013 and was also published (see publications).
Current Instructor at Anderson College, Toronto, where I developed and currently deliver the Physics of Ultrasound course onsite. Former external instructor for the Michener Institute. Previously a clinical instructor in Cambridge (UK), and guest lecturer at various UK universities.
Invited reviewer for the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine and former reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Medical Sonography.
Participated in various seminars, either as an organizer or as a speaker (or both).
First author of three publications, and co-author of a further seven.
Involved in volunteering abroad where I teach ultrasound skills to physicians and technologists in both Ethiopia and in Haiti.
Previously involved in the assessment of ultrasound equipment for Medecins Sans Frontieres.
Previous experience in issuing ultrasound reports without supervision within the UK.
